Century City Neighborhood Guide

Century City is one of the most polished neighborhoods in Los Angeles. Here, you’ll find a population consisting of mostly professionals and responsible urbanites living amongst skyrises, high-end shopping centers, and fantastic restaurants.

What to Expect in Century City

Century City is a small, clean, high-end commercial neighborhood in West LA. Here are some of the highlights of the area:

Getting To and From Century City

Century City is nestled in between Beverly Hills, Westwood, and Wes Los Angeles. The commute times vary depending on where you’re coming from and where you’re going.

  • From Burbank, it’s just over 23 miles to Century City. This takes between 35-70 minutes by vehicle or just over an hour and a half on public transit.
  • From Downtown Los Angeles, it’s almost 13 miles to the neighborhood. This will take between 30-50 minutes in a vehicle, or just over an hour on public transport.
  • From Santa Monica, it’s just 6.3 miles to Century City, which will take about 15-30 minutes by vehicle or 45 minutes on public transport.

Living and Learning in Century City

Life in Century City can be fun and rewarding. The hub of Century City is the Westfield Century City Shopping mall, a large center boasting almost 50 different retail outlets and restaurants. The mall also offers a grocery store.

Aspiring and professional photographers will rejoice to learn that the Annenberg Space for Photography can be found in Century City. This place offers free exhibitions several times a year.

Century City is a short drive from other popular Los Angeles regions, also known for their fantastic dining fare and shopping. These include Sawtelle, Beverly Hills, and West Hollywood.

If you’re raising children in Century City, there are plenty of options in the area for them to get a good education. Some of the most popular choices are:

  • Beverly Hills High school, a public school serving grades 9-12
  • Moreno High School, a public continuation school serving grades 9-12
  • El Rodeo Elementary School, a public school serving grades 9-12
  • The Creative Center for Children, a private school serving kindergarten and grade 1 students
  • Temple Isaiah Preschool and Kindergarten, a private school serving pre-schoolers and kindergarten
