If you travel often for business, you probably have a busy schedule. This can make it easy to neglect something very important: your wellness.
That doesn’t need to happen. Just getting a run or two in while you’re away can be enough to help you stay on top of your health and fitness goals.
That said, you might find this more difficult than it sounds. If you’re unfamiliar with your destination, you simply may not know where the best running spots in the area happen to be.
We understand this. That’s why we’ve put together this guide. If you’re visiting the West LA area, and looking to go for a run while you’re here, we recommend the following options:
Where to Run in and Around West LA
If you’re staying at Century Park Hotel on a business trip, again, odds are good your schedule is already fairly packed. You may not have the option to travel far when looking for a place to run.
That’s not a problem. From our hotel, the UCLA campus takes just a little over five minutes to reach by car. The campus’ outdoor track is a convenient running spot when you don’t have much time to venture far.
However, if you do have a little extra time on your hands, Los Angeles is also home to numerous running trails. Many of them provide you with the opportunity to explore the city while also exercising. As a busy professional, you probably understand the value of completing two tasks at once. Getting a chance to see more of LA in a way that boosts your fitness is undeniably efficient.
For instance, many people who visit the area make a point of checking out famous landmarks and attractions, such as Griffith Park. Perhaps you’re one of them. If so, you can also use this trip as an opportunity to enjoy an off-road run. Just start at the observatory parking lot and run the trail that leads to the top of Mount Hollywood. It may be a little strenuous, but you’ll be rewarded with one of LA’s most spectacular views. Griffith Park also has a 53-mile network of hiking trails if you’d prefer not to run.
Many area visitors also head over to Santa Monica to enjoy gorgeous views of the ocean while visiting West LA. While you’re in Santa Monica, take it all in with the two mile run between the Santa Monica Pier and Venice Boardwalk. This is another great running spot that’s just minutes away from our hotel.
Nearby Palisades Park in Santa Monica is another option worth keeping in mind. Its three-mile loop doesn’t simply offer a convenient spot in which to run. It also gives you the chance to see unique plants, artifacts, sculptures, and much more.
Again, your health matters. You can’t let a hectic business trip prevent you from working out if you try to live an active lifestyle. Fortunately, if you’re staying at Century Park Hotel, that won’t be a problem for you. The options listed here are merely a few examples of ideal running locations that happen to be right in the area.
